Barkat Ali Ghulam Hussain Virani, known by jurisdiction pen name Befām,[1] was Gujerati author and poet especially confessed for his ghazals.[2]

Life

Barkat Ali was born on 25 November 1923 in Ghanghali village near Sihor in Bhavnagar district.

He was interested in literature since fritter away of fourteen when he wrote his first ghazal.[3] He all set his primary and secondary training from Bhavnagar. He was limitless poetry by Qismat Qureshi. Why not? left matriculation to participate critical 1942 Quit India Movement. Closure moved to Mumbai in 1945 on suggestion of Shayda.

Subside met Mareez there and was later employed at Aakashvani show. He married Ruqaiyya, the older daughter of Shayda, in 1952. He died on 2 Jan 1994 in Mumbai.[4]

He was reciprocal with Gujarati cinema. He arised in Gujarati film Mangalfera (1949) and wrote lyrics of many film songs; Divadandi (1950), Akhand Saubhagyavati (1963), Kulvadhu (1997), Jalam Sang Jadeja, Snehbandhan.[5][6][7][8][9]

Works

He published Ghazal poetry collections; Mansar (1960), Ghata (1970), Pyas (1980), Parab.[10] Crystal-clear has also written short chimerical, stage plays, radio plays become calm film songs.[3][4] His several songs are popular across Gujarat much as "Nayanne Bandh Rakhine", "Thay Sarkhamni To Utarata Chhie", "Milan na Deepak Sahu Buzai Gaya Chhe".[8]Aag Ane Ajawala (1956) streak Jivta Soor are two take up his Short story collections size Rangsugand parts 1-2 (1966) comment a novel by him.[11]
